Kubernetes Deployment
Monitoring
Replica Availability, Rollout Tracking & CI/CD Visibility
Deploy with total confidence. BigBell monitors your Kubernetes Deployments, ensuring all desired replicas are available and immediately catching failed or stalled rollouts.
What is Kubernetes Deployment Monitoring?
Kubernetes Deployment monitoring tracks the higher-level controllers that manage your pods. A Deployment specifies the desired state of your application (e.g., 'I want 5 replicas of v2.0'). Monitoring this controller involves tracking the Desired Replicas versus the Available Replicas, monitoring the progress of Rolling Updates, and tracking the underlying ReplicaSets for staleness or failure.
Why Kubernetes Deployment Monitoring Matters
Individual pods are ephemeral and expected to die; Deployments are meant to be stable. If you deploy a new version of your app with a typo in the image name, the pods will fail to pull the image (ImagePullBackOff). Without Deployment monitoring, your CI/CD pipeline might say 'Success', but the Deployment is actually stalled, running 0 available replicas of the new version and keeping the old version alive. Monitoring Deployments connects your K8s infrastructure to your software release process.
- ✓Catch failed CI/CD deployments instantly
- ✓Alert when Available Replicas drops below Desired Replicas
- ✓Monitor the speed and success of Rolling Updates
- ✓Detect configuration errors like ImagePullBackOff or InvalidSecrets
Core Use Cases
Essential for SREs and Release Engineers who need to verify that automated CI/CD pipelines (like ArgoCD or Flux) have successfully applied changes without stranding the cluster in an unhealthy state.
Complete Deployments Monitoring Capabilities
Replica Drift Detection
Trigger alerts if the number of Ready replicas does not match the Spec.Replicas for more than 5 minutes.
Rollout Visibility
Watch deployments transition in real time, tracking the scale-up of new ReplicaSets and scale-down of old ones.
Stalled Deployment Alerts
Identify deployments that are stuck waiting for pods to become ready due to failing readiness probes.
Aggregated Metrics
View CPU and Memory usage rolled up at the Deployment level, rather than querying hundreds of individual pods.
